Inversnaid
One of our quieter cruise destinations. We bring the boat into the pier at the Inversnaid Hotel where you will disembark.
Steeped in local history
The famous West Highland Way walking route passes through the area along the banks of the loch and to the front of the Inversnaid Hotel. The pretty Arklet falls can be seen from the lochside.
The Inversnaid Hotel, which was once a hunting lodge for the Duke of Montrose is steeped in local history, from clan warfare to the Highland Clearances. The hotel is open for light snacks and drinks over the summer months
Long-lost ruins and spectacular views
Inversnaid is also home to a RSPB nature reserve and for visitors exploring the trails will bring you face-to-face with extraordinary wildlife, long-lost ruins and spectacular views.
The Inversnaid Nature Reserve is part of The Great Trossachs Forest project, which is the result of a unique collaboration known as the Scottish Forest Alliance which is made up of Forestry Commission Scotland RSPB Scotland, Woodland Trust Scotland and the multi-national company, BP. RSPB Scotland Inversnaid is a very special place, an internationally important example of rare Atlantic oak woodland with a habitat so rich that it is also referred to as temperate rainforest
By bike
If you come from Tarbet and take your bike on board, the road from Inversnaid to Stronachlachar can link you up with the cruise boats on Loch Katrine. You can then access lots of great cycle trails throughout the Trossachs and Aberfoyle.
Alternatively, you can hop on a Loch Katrine boat which will take you to the Trossachs Pier and you can then cycle the road back to Inversnaid.
